October and November

Boy, I am so far behind. Here’s the fun we’ve had these last two months.

October: We talked about fire safety. We usually go to the fire station on a field trip, but they were not doing it due to COVID. There was lots of art projects, with a few of them with end products in mind. But as always, the students are welcome to add their own twist to them. We fit in writing whenever and wherever. One little boy was especially interested in writing his friend’s name. Another reminder that they will write when they are motivated. The weather was warm enough to spend time outside and there was some creative play with the cars and the slide.

November: Bought some stacking boxes and couldn’t wait to see how the students used them. I was not disappointed. And lots of literacy and math happening organically as the students play. There is no way I could make lesson plans that cover all that they do during their play. Also lots of creative creating at the art table using shapes, making a name train and some turkeys.
