A Picture’s Worth a Thousand Words

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, so I am just going to let the pictures do the talking this month. I have put off doing this because I just haven’t had the time to sit and think of what to write, but then I realized that it’s the pictures that are the most important anyways, since they tell the story better then I can. So I present March preschool:

Back story to these next pictures: Two girls came up and asked me for some glue. We were playing outside, so I was curious as to what they needed it for. Instead of just saying no, I asked what their plan was. They said they were needed it to make a bird’s nest. By trusting and following the student’s lead, these two girls are learning problem solving skills and cooperation, which are not things they can learn from worksheets, or sitting at a desk. This is just one example of the benefit of play based education.
