Boy, I haven’t been very good about keeping up on these posts. Sorry about that. And I really don’t have anything profound to say about the last two weeks of February, so I’ll just post the pictures and say that we sure had fun. We did go on our last field trip of the year to Bowmans, which is always a favorite. We also did some Valentine’s art.
I did want to mention that I am still trying to remember that there is value in both of these next finished projects. To be honest, I really had to hold myself back as I watched this student squeezing out more glue. Because I realized, that was where she is at and that is just where she needs to be! Even though the first one is all you’ll ever see on pinterest, both of them have great value in regards to the children who created them.

And some other art: What we want to be when we grow up (including the invented spelling of these two girls), painting with a toothbrush, a first aide picture, and some sticky easel art.
These next art projects are totally child directed. The first was a little girl interested in making snowflakes and sharing her knowledge with others that expressed interest. The last picture is really friendship in action. A group of girls realized that they had inadvertently left one little girl out. So they went to the art table and created this to give her. It was really an epic piece of art that was at least 3 feet long!
And we had with play dough and at fun at the sensory table. The last picture is a birthday cake several students worked on because it “was my birthday” and all the markers, stamps and scissors are candles, which I think is pretty darn close to how many real candles I may need on my next birthday. 🙂
