Last week of summer camp

Last week was the last of the summer camps. It was a lot of fun. We played outside, and discovered some blackberries that were ripe and ready for picking. We also built some amazing block towers and had fun exploring the properties of slime. I can’t believe that summer is winding down. My kids start back next Wed, then I have a week and a half to get ready for preschool! I can’t wait to start the new year. I have some fun ideas that I am excited to try. I want to try to turn the learning over to the students more this year, and just be the support, or scaffolding, in their learning. So this means that I set out the materials and let the students decide how to use them. This can be a little scary, turning over the control to the kids, but I also know that in doing so, the learning becomes more relevant to them. And I have great confidence in them and know that amazing things can and will happen.
